Uno de mis artículos referentes a las bellas artes, y que está publicado en Wikipedia, la enciclopedia libre, es el de un acuarelista nacido en Valdivia cuya memoria ha quedado inmortalizada en un concurso para personas que deseen mostrar sus dotes de pintores. En su memoria se creó el Salón Nacional del Arte de la Acuarela "Ricardo Anwandter", en 1994; el evento se lleva a cabo anualmente en el Centro Cultural "El Austral", Valdivia, y tiene como objetivo estimular el cultivo y la difusión de esta técnica plástica.
Sus acuarelas describen diversos aspectos del paisaje valdiviano, en las cuales el artista revela su permanente afán de plasmar los efectos atmosféricos de la ciudad que tanto amó. Montó numerosas exposiciones individuales, así como también participó en muchas muestras pictóricas colectivas colectivas. Desde 1965 se hizo acreedor a muchas distinciones y premios.
